Because higher learning is only as solid as the foundation on which it is placed, Renaissance Academy has developed a “spiral” life skill curriculum as well.

This is a graduated continuum of life skills that are developmentally appropriate for each division. This may look very different in preschool than in middle school, but includes vision, production, and communication.

Vision requires social/emotional risk-taking, brainstorming, critical thought, divergent thinking, confidence and accountability. Production requires time management, prioritization, problem solving and strategizing, sequential thought, organizational systems, and motivation. Communication requires understanding context clues, conflict resolution skills, empathy and compassion, teamwork, effective listening, and an organized thought process.

Our life skill curriculum works to transition students from learning based on external discipline and motivation to learning rooted in internal discipline and motivation. The Renaissance student moves through the life skill curriculum and is better equipped to establish life long strategies and self-advocacy skills that lead to success in their high school, college, and chosen career.
